Monica Story

I was born in Gallup, NM, at a young age my family moved to the then very small town of Dripping Springs, TX where I continue to live to this day but it is in no way considered a small town anymore. I have been married for almost 11 years and have 4 amazing children (2 boys & 2 girls). We enjoy camping, fishing, swimming and going to the beach.

My insurance background started in my teenage years when I would fly back to New Mexico to visit my Aunt who let me work at her insurance firm. It was then that I really learned the importance of insurance and the protection it can give a family. At age 19 I became licensed to offer auto insurance, home insurance and renters insurance in the State of Texas and on January 2, 2001 I started working for State Farm. I had no clue that my life would forever change on December 30th of that year when I lost my mother. She thought her funeral and family would be taken care of with life insurance but it turned out the policy she had was accidental death only and it didn’t pay because she died of cancer. This is when I realized that I have a duty to protect families so that they never go through something like this and in 2002 I was licensed to offer life insurance & health insurance as well. The most rewarding thing that I have discovered in my years with State Farm is that our culture is to be as passionate as I am about making sure families are protected. Because of this, there is no other company out there that I would ever want to work for. ~

I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to Round Rock, Texas in 2005. I’ve been in Texas ever since! I attended the great Round Rock High School…Go Dragons! Graduated from RRHS and made my way on over to Texas A&M University, Whoop! After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in English, I moved back to Round Rock and quickly dove into a few careers ranging from the home industry to new home purchases and marketing. This is where I discovered my passion for customer service. 2020 came with a few twists but overall turned out to be a rather huge blessing. I was let go with my previous employer due to COVID layoffs, but later that year was introduced to Monica Story. We both share a passion for educating and helping others. Monica explained the morals and values of State Farm and I instantly knew that this was a company I wanted to be a part of. I eagerly pursued this career and made it a goal of mine to become part of the Story Insurance Team by the 2021 grand opening! Here I am now, learning as much as I possibly can so that I may assist you and make sure you and your loved ones are properly covered to confidently pursue your financial goals and dreams you have in life with no hesitation. I'm licensed in Auto, Fire, Life and Health insurance. My passion for customer service and helping others led me to the Story Insurance Team! I enjoy spending time with my husband, dogs, and traveling when I'm not at the office! Thank you for taking the time to learn about me, I can't wait to learn about you! ~

I was born and raised around the Austin Area. I am happily married to Chris McDonald who was the EMS Lieutenant/Firefighter for Travis County ESD 1 and Firefighter for Granite Shoals until recently when he transferred to working as a Paramedic II in a major ER/Trauma center.  We have three kids and two Grandchildren. Kaytlynn is 23 and is the mother of our sweet Grandson Oliver “Ollie” Travis. Joy is 21 and her and our Son-in-law Walker are both in the Marine Corps and are the parents of our precious Granddaughter Daisy Kay. Daisy & Ollie were both born January 2020 and just celebrated their 1st birthday. Our 3rd Child our “Midlife Blessing” Liam is 5. He is one of the most precious children I’ve ever known and I am not just saying that because he is ours. When Liam was 2 1/2 he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Kleefstra Syndrome, he is missing part of his 9th chromosome. This Syndrome comes with lots of Challenges but he is by far one of the happiest kids ever! My Husband and I love to travel abroad to spend time with our family. When we aren’t traveling for doctor appointments in the US we love to travel and help Liam explore places on his travel map, he has checked off 24 states and 5 countries.  

My career started in Customer Service working for my mother at BFI. I have since worked for Edward Jones as the Branch Office Administrator and my most current role has been with a small mom in pop “Cen-Tex Waste Water in Kingsland, Texas where I have been for the last 13 years. I was the office manager and handled the day to day activities, HR, Payroll, taxes, and year end but my favorite was always the customers. I love people and helping those around me! ~ My Life is PEOPLE! ~  I am very excited about my State Farm Insurance career with the Story Insurance Team and the opportunity I have to help people protect what's most important in their life and make a positive difference in their future. I'm licensed to offer Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, Renters Insurance & Business Insurance. I am also available to assist you with billing questions, filing a claim and general insurance questions.
